Subsidy Application Information

The City of Palo Alto Child Care Subsidy Program subsidizes child care costs for qualifying low-income families who live in Palo Alto or work for the City of Palo Alto.

Who is eligible to apply?

Low income families in need of affordable quality child care the Palo Alto. Families must meet the following criteria:

You (parent or guardian) are:

  • A resident of Palo Alto, or
  • An employee of the City of Palo Alto, or
  • Your child attends Palo Alto Unified School District through the Voluntary Transfer Program (to apply for VTP, call San Mateo County Office of Education at (650) 802-5314)
And you are:
  • Employed, or seeking employment, or
  • A student in an accredited program, or
  • Unable to care for the child due to disability (incapacitated)
