Palo Verde Kids’ Club Goals and Objectives
Palo Verde Kids’ Club (PVKC) strives to offer a safe and nurturing environment. Our program includes varied activities that will challenge, encourage, and enhance a child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our goal is to provide a positive, non-discriminatory environment for children to grow and respect one another.

PVKC was accredited by the National AfterSchool Association (NAA) in May 1999, and was reaccredited in March 2003.

Palo Verde Kids’ Club Activities
Each month, students at PVKC brainstorm and vote on what theme they’d like to focus on for the next four weeks. With help from the staff, children draw a web of ideas and specific items of interest centered on their chosen monthly theme. Recent themes have included animation, history, and the Olympic games. PVKC incorporates these topics into daily activities, such as comic book creation, studies of ancient Egypt and hieroglyphics translation.

Children at PVKC also have the opportunity to participate in outdoor activities, as well as assume responsibilities at the center. PVKC has an active Junior Staff, comprised of fourth and fifth graders, who help with center activities and lead a group four times per week.

Parent Information and Participation
Families are encouraged to participate in PVKC activities. At the start of the school year, we host a potluck and talent show, a favorite among children and parents. We also host several social events throughout the year, ending the school year with a family potluck.
