Juana Briones Kids’ Club Goals and Objectives
Juana Briones Kids’ Club (JBKC) provides a non-discriminatory, friendly place where all children have the chance to grow, respect and enjoy one another. We believe that childhood is to be celebrated and that individual differences in cultural background, interests, and abilities should be recognized, respected and celebrated as well.
JBKC provides quality care and develops curriculums and activities to enhance self-esteem, confidence and problem solving skills, while teaching children about sharing, helping and cooperating with one another. Children are not separated by age or gender, and are encouraged to include other children regardless of age, sex or ability.
Juana Briones Kids’ Club Activities
The program at JBKC provides daily activities that enhance the senses and capture individual interests. Daily activities are provided in a safe, supportive environment and include age-appropriate crafts, games, outside play, and quiet time. JBKC also focuses on a different world region each month, incorporating traditions, food and trivia into the program.
Children at JBKC have a daily snack time with teachers in order to increase communication, so that teachers may become more intimately acquainted with individual children, their interests and needs.
Parent Information and Participation
Through parent conferences (held at least once a year), as well as on a weekly calendar, parents are kept aware of our program’s activities and the development of their children. Parents are also encouraged to participate in planning cultural events for the center and to attend family functions such as potluck dinners.
