Barron Park Kids’ Club Goals and Objectives
Barron Park Kids’ Club (BPKC) fosters the development of the whole child through a fun, safe, stimulating, and nurturing atmosphere provided by caring staff dedicated to the field of after school care. While our curriculum offers multiple choices of enrichment activities each day (such as arts, sports, science, games, dramatic play, music, multimedia, literature, etc.), we place special emphasis on social and emotional development. We build on the foundation of strong relationships between BPKC teachers and the program’s children and families. We promote community, trust and respect, appreciation and understanding of personal differences, and self-esteem.

Barron Park Kids’ Club Activities
BPKC is located on the edge of the beautiful Barron Park Elementary School campus. We have two classrooms, “Europe” and “North America,” and also spend a lot of time on the playground, “Asia.” We also enjoy frequent outdoor activities, such as trips to nearby Bol Park.

One project is offered daily in each room and outside, ranging from art to sports to community service. Projects are taught by BPKC teachers on a weekly rotation. Our students are encouraged to contribute ideas to the activities that are offered in the program, and have many opportunities to take on special responsibilities and leadership roles that increase with age and experience. We also have full kitchen facilities, which allow us to prepare daily nutritious and delicious snacks, and to provide many cooking opportunities for our students.

We are very lucky to have Barron Park Children’s Center, a PACCC preschool program, as our next-door neighbor. We enjoy occasional picnics and activities together, and also conduct an “Activity Partners” program, in which fourth and fifth graders plan and lead weekly projects with our three- and four-year-old friends.

Parent Information and Participation
Barron Park’s unique and ethnically and socio-economically diverse community is well represented at BPKC with families of varied backgrounds, cultures and languages. Among the children currently enrolled, there are currently at least seven languages represented! We encourage parents and community members to share their culture, experiences and special talents with us.
