Besse Bolton Kids’ Club Goals and Objectives
Besse Bolton Kids’ Club (BBKC) is conveniently located on the Fairmeadow Elementary school campus, with three spacious portable rooms designed to meet the developmental and social needs of our children. One portable is specifically for the kindergarten children. Here, we place an emphasis on smaller group size, individual growth, nurturing responsible social behavior, and fun recreational activities. Our second and third portables are for our first through fifth graders, which focuses on homework help, chances for creativity, leadership opportunities, and positive team-building practices. All three rooms and environments offer the freedom to choose from a variety of age-appropriate and enriched activities, while still having a structured daily schedule. We believe that childhood is to be celebrated and that individual differences in cultural background, interests, and abilities should be recognized, respected and celebrated.
Besse Bolton Kids’ Club Activities
BBKC does a great job of offering the children a setting of warmth and security, while fostering independence and initiative by allowing freedom of choice and the assumption of responsibility within set limits. While at BBKC, all students have the opportunity to engage in ongoing art projects, computers and science, language and literacy, cooking and measurement, sports and games, gardening and nature, social interaction with peers, dramatic arts, and community involvement.
Our teaching staff has been committed to their work at BBKC for a number of years, which reflects a high level of dedication to the children and program, professionalism, and continuity of care. The children, staff, and parents make up the wonderful ‘home away from home’ we call Besse Bolton Kids’ Club.
Parent Information and Participation
At BBKC, we also encourage parent involvement, and host family potlucks, movie nights, fundraisers, and various volunteer opportunities.
